Historic Commercial Vehicle Run 2007
So, here we are on a grey Sunday morning, in Crystal Palace Park, site of the famous Crystal Palace fire, home of London’s least scientifically accurate dinosaurs, as well as sphinxes, secret tunnels, a sports arena & massive TV transmitter, and, on this particular day, start-off point for the the annual London–Brighton shindig for the Historic Commercial Vehicle Society – well worth getting up at a ridiculous hour to spend half the morning finding the right place to catch the few remaining vehicles which haven’t already left for the beach, I’m sure you’ll agree.
Our image features an ancient fire engine having a spot of bother with its waterworks – not all that surprising really considering how much of the stuff it must have on board. Woe betide there was an emergency they’d have had to attend to…
